Eleven private Elgin Valley gardens open their gates over the first of two weekends, from woodland planting to formal rose terraces to indigenous landscapes. Fairholme is back after a six year absence. There are plant sales at Keurbos and Fresh Woods, and Keurbos runs a lunch service operated by a supported charity.

No booking needed. Gates 09:30 to 16:00 with last entry at 15:45. Each garden sets its own entry fee and some are free, with gardens donating a share of takings to charities they choose. The second weekend runs 7 to 8 November.
